Now that Road to Infamy seem to have shipped all copies, and most people seem to have received theirs, what are your opinions on Crypt board game />I can't really make up my mind about it; feels like I'm trying to like it more article source I do, simply because I backed it.
It succeeds exactly at what it attempts.
It's a filler game that can be fun if you don't take it too seriously.
Everything flows easily and the only rule that's easy to miss is if you get all your servants bumped in a round, you get your exhausted servants back as a consolation prize.
The one thing that comes to mind that could make it better is a whole deck of Collector Cards to make every game wildly different.
Having 3 servants, you can typically drop 3x 2pips on one card and have minimal risk.
Player 1 skips his first bid to get his servants back and then bids on one card using the Lights Out card.
Well, that does make the game a bit better, thx.
As first player you can in a two player game : First turn of the round for the first player: Place servant s on as many cards as possible -or- reclaim servants.
I thought it was fine.
The dice bidding mechanism was fun, the rest of the game was very basic.
I'd play it again but it's not something I'd go out and buy.
I played it and it was okay but I never felt I had agency in the game.
There are much better filler games out there that I would rather play than this.
Trying to figure out if Crypt is something I might like.
For reference, what are some better filler games you would rather play than this?
We had fun playing it and I really have to give them props because if the game was any longer we would've probably not enjoyed it.
I also have to say the art and box were all very well done.
The small box makes it an easier decision to hang onto it and possibly bring to a ski trip cabin or something with other filler games.
On the other hand, I think there are a few other games in the category that I own which have a bit more of a pop to them and have some more staying power.
It's a decent travel game.
Somewhere in the airport while waiting for your airplane, or sitting in the airplane, or killing time in your hotel.
Decent filler, but I'd also rather play things like Railroad Ink, Hanamikoji, Sprawlopolis, Aboretum, Arkon, etc.
I actually enjoyed Crypt more.
I have to give Arboretum another go.
Easy to teach and click />It certainly isn't my favorite game, and probably never will be, but it probably get played a decent amount with less gamer people and when we don't feel like setting up a whole game.
And I love the fact that so far it seems to scale well and I'm very interested to play the co-op version.
All in all, I'm happy with the money I spent on it.
It's probably not gonna be the next big thing, but it fills a hole in our collection for games that luck games that play less than a half hour.
I'm crypt board game bit confused by the solo mode.
It's fun, but I never get below 50 coins.
It seems impossible to fail.
And I'm fairly sure Just click for source play all the rules correctly, after reading and rereading and checking on BGG.
I must be doing something wrong, though.
I think that it might be better if there was more incentive to bet big with your dice.
As it is, it works well enough for all parties to play conservatively.
I'm loving it so far.
It's a solid casual game that is easy to teach even to the muggles I often game crypt board game, and which has gotten good reviews from the muggles and hobby gamers in my group alike.
The different possible setups feel meaningfully different enough that i expect it to stay interesting to me for a long time.
The crypt board game of the game is very simple, but the strategy gets moderately deep; especially once everyone has a few rounds under their belt, and starts thinking ahead to future turns to try and calibrate their bets just high enough and time them for maximum impact.
The three and four player games work a lot better than the two player, but my SO and I have played a few 1v1s and enjoyed it that way too.
It takes on a markedly different texture with just two players, though, almost a zero-sum game feel to it where there's less high betting and more stealing crypts from each other.
My biggest regret about the game so far is that I didn't back for two copies of it, so that I can play the multi-copy variants at our game night with a larger group.

Crypt is an easily-learned, quick-playing tile-laying game suitable for 2-4 players Ages 8 and up. I have remixed several pieces into the player pawns. As the Crypt is a large room you will need to print this tile 3 times for a small crypt and 6 times for a full crypt.
